Alliance Abroad Expands Global Presence with New Office in Portugal.
Alliance Abroad is opening a new international office in Portugal this week, marking an important step in expanding cultural exchange and global career opportunities for young professionals across Portuguese-speaking countries.
The new offices will be led by Patrick Guimarães, who brings nearly three decades of experience in international education. Patrick will oversee operations across Portuguese-speaking markets, forging strategic partnerships and creating programs that connect students and professionals with life-changing opportunities abroad.
“Patrick’s deep roots in the Portuguese-speaking community and his passion for giving young people the tools to build their futures make him the ideal person to lead this next chapter,” said Adam Cooper, President of Alliance Abroad. “This isn’t just about opening offices – it’s about opening doors in markets that have historically had limited access to the full breadth of global exchange opportunities. With Patrick at the helm, we’re changing that.”
As part of this initiative, Alliance Abroad will be delivering a 6-month hospitality work experience program in Portugal, designed to give young professionals the chance to gain international exposure, build skills in leading hotels and resorts, and enhance their long-term career prospects.
With the addition of Portugal, Alliance Abroad now operates seven offices worldwide, alongside its existing locations in the USA, Mexico, South Africa, Spain, Australia, and Dubai.
Together with the wider Alliance Strategies family of brands, which includes GeoVisions, Stepwest, Wild Packs, and Teacher Lounge, this network provides graduates and early-career professionals with more opportunities than ever to launch global careers.
