All of our program participants must speak English at a level that is sufficient to safely and successfully complete the program in which they are participating. We will verify your English level during your interview and determine if it is sufficient for participation. There are different jobs available for various levels of English; we will help you select a position that is right for you!
Some documentation will vary depending on the program you’re applying for. Please see each program for specifics. In general, all programs require an updated resume that highlights your education and/or work experience, a valid passport, information on your education- whether you are in school or have graduated, as well as your signature on our program-specific Terms and Conditions.
This is the document issued by Alliance Abroad, your sponsor, that confirms you are eligible for the program you are applying for a visa for. It also provides information on your Program Start and End Date, your host employer while on program, and basic biographical information such as date of birth and citizenship country.
Yes! Alliance Abroad has a great network of host employers across all of our programs, from seasonal companies in beach or ski areas to distinguished school districts and five star hotels and resorts. Once you have completed the initial screening and eligibility process, you will have the opportunity to review our available placements and select what company or school you are interested in interviewing with.
Alliance Abroad has a full-time administrative team that will help you every step of the way, from the initial screening and phone call to the application process, to the employer interview, to helping schedule and prepare you for the J-1 visa interview process.
Interns, Trainees and Teachers may bring dependents (known has J-2 visa holders) with them on the program. Eligible dependents include spouses and unmarried children under the age of 21. You must apply with AAG and provide evidence of the relationship and that you are able to financially support all dependents regardless of whether your spouse is employed while here.
The Bridge USA programs are cultural exchange program. While each of our programs includes a work or training element, the basis of the program is the opportunity to live in the U.S. and experience American culture while sharing your own culture. Participating in activities in your community or as part of your host company or school is essential to your program experience. It includes big events that take planning and/or travel to another city or state to small events like international potlucks, a local park or museum, or volunteering with an organization in your community.
Yes. Your health and safety are our primary concern. We require all participants to check-in with us at least once a month to let us know you are okay. We also use this check-in to make sure you are participating in cultural activities and haven’t changed your home addresses. If you need us outside of the monthly check-in, we are here! We provide 24-hour emergency support and program assistance.
