You receive limited medical insurance as part of your program. Please review the information below carefully to understand your coverage and benefits.
Important:
Alliance Abroad is not your insurance provider. Your Insurance is with Envisage Global Insurance that is administered and managed by Point Comfort. We can offer general guidance, but you must always contact Point Comfort Travel before seeking medical attention.

In Student Zone, you can:
- View your coverage details
- Download your insurance card
- Access policy documents and benefits information
- Request assistance and support
We strongly recommend saving a copy of your insurance card from Student Zone on your phone.

Insurance Details:
Step 1: Call First
You must call Point Comfort Travel at 1-833-483-0001 BEFORE seeking care (unless it is a life-threatening emergency).
This helps you:
- Confirm if treatment is covered
- Find an in-network provider
- Get required authorization
Step 2: Use Teladoc First
For non-emergency issues, Teladoc should be your first option.
- Convenient and cost-effective
- Available from home
- Up to one appointment per day
Call Point Comfort Travel at 1-833-483-0001 to schedule your Teladoc appointment.
Step 3: In-Person Care (If Needed)
- Urgent Care / Walk-in Clinics: Best for non-emergencies
- Deductible: $75
- Emergency Room (ER): For true emergencies only
- Deductible: $325 (waived if admitted)
You must receive authorization from Point Comfort Travel by calling 1-833-483-0001 before visiting Urgent Care or ER, or services may not be covered.
Medical Emergencies
In an emergency, you (or someone on your behalf) must call:

- Seeing a doctor
- Undergoing tests
- Being admitted to a hospital
What to Bring to Your Appointment
- Passport
- Insurance information
- Payment method (for co-pay/deductible)
Also request copies of:
- Medical records
- Bills and receipts
Deductibles / Co-Pay
You must pay these before receiving treatment:
- Teladoc: Free
- Doctor/Urgent Care visit: $75
- Emergency Room: $350 (waived if hospitalized)
Co-pays are not reimbursed.
- Claims must be submitted within 24 hours
- If Point Comfort Travel is contacted in advance, they may work directly with the provider
- If you paid out-of-pocket, you must submit a claim for possible reimbursement
- You can submit your claim in Student Zone
When submitting a claim:
- Include all receipts and documents
- Provide complete and accurate information
- Note: reimbursement is not guaranteed and may take time
Important Reminder
If you do not contact Point Comfort Travel before receiving care (unless emergency), you may be responsible for all medical costs.

Additional Insurance (Travel After Program)
Your coverage ends 5 days after your DS-2019 end date.
If you plan to travel in the U.S. after your program, we strongly recommend purchasing additional insurance.

Extension Options
Base Plan
- 15 days: $30
- 30 days: $60
Upgrade Plan
- 15 days: $60
- 30 days: $90
- Unexpected and urgent medical treatment due to accident or illness
- Medical Evacuation (transport to appropriate medical facility)
- Repatriation of Remains in the event of death
- Bedside visitation for one family member in case of critical illness/accident
- Skiing and snowboarding accidents on official, groomed trails
This plan does not cover:
- Pre-existing conditions
- Routine medical exams or preventative care (check-ups, screenings)
- Mental health treatment
- Pregnancy, childbirth, or related conditions
- Follow-up care or chronic medication
- Dental care
- Vision care (eye exams, glasses, contacts)
- Alternative treatments (homeopathic, spa, rehabilitation therapies)
- Injuries related to alcohol/drug use
- Injuries from hazardous activities (e.g., motor sports, climbing, diving)
- Self-inflicted injuries or criminal activity
- HIV/AIDS
- Sexually Transmitted diseases (STDs)
