The best highlight of the programs has been the balance between social life and work. Exploring places here in Hawaii has allowed me to experience the richness of Hawaiian culture while maintaining focus on my teaching responsibilities and be able to share these to my students. These moments have made my time here truly fulfilling.

This month, the hotel has been very busy, and I’m still learning a lot. My chefs continue to teach me something new every day, which I enjoy the most. My co-workers are also very humble and generous when it comes to giving advice and sharing their knowledge. Since it’s my last month, I’ve had the opportunity to work in different stations throughout the hotel.

The best experience of the program was the opportunity to visit Grand Cayon, Horseshoe Bend, and the Sedona Mountains. It’s incredible how nature and the landscape unfold in these places. I was amazed.

I am very happy and proud of myself for being brave and deciding to take part in this work and travel experience. This program has allowed me to grow as a person, realize how strong I am, and see everything I can achieve. The best part of this program is meeting people from different parts of the world, learning about their cultures, languages, and traditions, and making friends along the way. If you are thinking about living this experience, do not hesitate – JUST DO IT!

I am very happy to be a participant in the J1 program because I can learn many things, especially about culture. Besides that, I have also made many friends from different countries, with whom I can share and gain a lot of valuable experiences.

My most rewarding experience this month was simple but meaningful: taking the local bus alone for the first time to go shopping.
It felt like a small adventure. I had to pay close attention to the stops and even ask for directions, which gave me a great opportunity to practice my English with the locals. Arriving at my destination on my own gave me a tremendous sense of independence and confidence. It was more than just a trip to the store—it was a life lesson in adapting to a new country and a rewarding step toward feeling more at home here.
